    If you intend to stay in the Czech Republic for a short period of time, you are required to apply for a visa, provided you are a citizen of a country that requires a visa to enter the Schengen Area.

    Ukrainian citizens need a visa to enter the Czech Republic. The visa allows a foreign national to stay in the Czech Republic for a limited period (up to 90 days within a 180-day period). If you plan to stay in the Czech Republic for a longer period (more than 90 days), you must apply for a long-term visa or residence permit directly at the Consulate of the Czech Republic.

    As of June 23, 2015, the rule of personal submission of documents is in effect. All applicants must appear at the Visa Center and provide their biometric data — fingerprints.

    Exceptions to the requirement to provide fingerprints apply to the following categories:

    • Children under 12 years old;
    • Persons for whom it is physically impossible to collect fingerprints;
    • Heads of state and members of national governments (as well as members of their official delegations and their spouses), if traveling for official purposes.
