    Germany attracts millions of tourists every year, as every castle, numerous cathedrals, and entire neighborhoods here are steeped in centuries of history. Alongside ancient landmarks, there are modern high-tech automobile factories that graciously open their doors for guided tours.

    One should not forget about the unique German cuisine. This country is the birthplace of the famous hamburgers, named after the city of Hamburg. And the pork sausages and German beer need no introduction at all.

    Required documents for obtaining a visa to Germany:

    • Passport (valid for at least 90 days) + photocopy;
    • Ukrainian passport + photocopy (only pages with stamps);
    • 2 photos sized 3.5 x 4.5 cm (80% of the face);
    • Employment certificate (for the last 6 months on company letterhead with a round stamp);
    • Bank statement (showing account transactions for the last 3 months and account balance);

    Although Germany is very hospitable to financially capable tourists, visa issuance is handled with great strictness here. The hardest part is for those who want to get a multiple-entry visa or move to Germany for permanent residence. Therefore, the collection and submission of documents must be approached with full responsibility so that even the famously meticulous Germans cannot refuse you.

    There are two main types of visas for Germany: Schengen (C) and national (D). The first allows a stay in the country up to 90 days with the right for single or multiple entries into the Schengen area. The national visa is initially issued for 90 days but can be extended for a longer period.

    The main difference between these visas lies in the processing time. A Schengen visa can be obtained in 3-7 days, while the national visa process is more complex and longer — taking several weeks to several months.

    • Visa for employment;
    • Visa for self-employment;
    • Visa for artists and performers;
    • Visa for recognition of professional qualifications obtained outside Germany;
    • Visa for vocational training and internships;
    • Visa for employment as scientists, researchers, and scientific staff;
    • Visa for job seeking.
