    Polish national visa (type D) from the voivode is a long-term visa that allows staying in Poland for more than 90 days. It is issued based on the decision of the voivode (administrative head of the region) and is intended for those planning long-term stay in Poland.

    The voivode’s invitation, on the basis of which the visa is issued, can include your family members. This gives them the right to also obtain a one-year national visa (though without the right to work) for family reunification.

    The voivode visa cancels all existing visa corridors. For example, if you have worked for half a year in Poland on a six-month work visa and now need to wait another half year at home before applying for the next visa, obtaining the voivode visa allows you to enter the country immediately.

    The most important advantage is that the applicant cannot be refused a visa based on the voivode’s invitation. In other words, the Polish consul in Ukraine follows the voivode’s decision and does not make any personal decisions regarding the issuance or refusal of the document.
